The Map Collection, located in the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library, consists of an estimated 200,000 maps, over 3,000 atlases and geographic reference books. Within the Map Collection is the Historical Aerial Photographs of Colorado collection. This historical photograph collection holds more than 25,000 print aerials. Approximately 4,700 are aerial photographs of Colorado, taken by the U.S. Forest Service in the years from 1938 to 1947. These are digitized, available for download in the CU Digital Library (CUDL) and are indexed online.
See this guide for more information about aerial photographs. If you are searching for more information, please contact the Map Collection at 303-492-7578 or email rad@colorado.edu to schedule an appointment.
