Music on the Front Range: Bands

Colorado Brass is a British-style brass and percussion ensemble based in Denver. They frequently compete in brass competitions and perform in festivals. They draw smaller chamber ensembles from the band that also perform and compete.

A professional band based in Denver. The Colorado Wind Ensemble performs traditional and contemporary band music as well as commissions and they regularly collaborate with other performing ensembles. They are an Artist in Residence at Metropolitan State University and music students there have the opportunity to play with the ensemble.

The Fort Collins Wind Symphony is a professional ensemble that performs repertoire from the traditional band canon as well as modern works and film music.
Their concerts are provided to audiences for free.

Based in Colorado Springs, the Air Force Academy hosts multiple ensembles, including a large concert band and various chamber groups. Members are active-duty Air Force professionals.

Denver Municipal Band is a professional band that draws from musicians in the region. They perform as a concert band and also form multiple chamber ensembles. Their repertoire is diverse and includes band standards, jazz, film music, and recent compositions.
They provide instruction and play with the Colorado Honor Band.
