A century of local Latino life is emerging into view.
Boulder County Latina League
Boulder County Latina League provides scholarships to college bound Latina/o students from first generation and low-income backgrounds. Scholarships are open to all qualified students regardless of immigration status.
Colorado Latino History Project: Teaching Our Stories Statewide
The Latino History Project partners with selected communities across Colorado to gather, preserve, and make available information about the history and culture of their own people of color and to work with PreK-12 teachers on how to use that material in their classrooms.
La Gente: Colorado's Mexican History (Digital Exhibit)
Hispanic Americans played important roles in Colorado history as entrepreneurs, advocates, explorers, artists, and more. Explore the history of Hispanic Coloradans from ancient civilizations to the Chicano movement of the 1960s.

Cultural Opportunities

The Denver metropolitan area hosts rich cultural connections for indigenous and Latinx art, theater, dances, history, and more.

Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC)
CHAC is a collaborative effort among artists, cultural workers, and partner organizations. CHAC offers a gallery and cultural center with events and exhibits ranging from dance, music, literature, and the visual arts.
Mexican Cultural Center Denver
MCCD offers events and programs to promote and maintain Mexican culture in Colorado, including partnerships with many local museums and arts groups. Check their site for mariachi festivals, Ballet Folclorico, the latest exhibits, and more!
Museo de las Americas
El Museo hosts gallery exhibits, events, workshops, and educational programming for youth, teachers, faculty, and the community.
Su Teatro Cultural & Performing Arts Center
Su Teatro’s mission is to promote, produce, develop and preserve the cultural arts, heritage, and traditions of the Chicano/Latino community; to advance mutual respect for other cultures; and to establish avenues where all cultures may come together. The center hosts plays, festivals, and youth programs throughout the year.

Quechua Program at the Latin American and Latinx Studies Center
Starting in Spring 2021, the Latin American and Latinx Studies Center will offer a Quechua language program available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at CU-Boulder. This is the first time a Latin American Indigenous language will fulfill the Foreign Languages MAPS and CORE Requirement at our University. Students must complete the third semester of Quechua (Intermediate Level) in order to satisfy the MAPS and CORE Requirements. Our Quechua Language Program is funded through a U.S. Department of Education Title VI Grant.
Certificate Program in Latin American and Latinx Studies
This certificate combines the study of Latinx communities in the United States with analysis of the history, politics, culture, art and societies of Latin America and the Caribbean. It trains future professionals to better serve the growing Latinx* population of the country and the state.

Support Hispanic and Latinx Businesses

Supporting Latinx-owned local businesses is a powerful economic boost to the community. There are also many local organizations that offer mentoring, business networking, and entrepreneurial support for Latinx people interested in starting a business.

Colorado Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
With more than 2500 members, the Chamber provides networking, small business resources, and policy advocacy.
The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County
The Boulder Latino Chamber offers networking, events, and resources, including a directory for small business owners and representatives, with the goal of supporting all businesses.
Mi Casa Resource Center
Founded by 8 mothers in 1976, Mi Casa offers entrepreneurial training for existing businesses and start-ups as well as career resources for youth and adults.
