On May 1, 1969, Fred Rogers testified before the Senate about PBS funding, using his program, "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood," as exemplary of what PBS contributes. During his testimony, he said, "I'm constantly concerned about what our children are seeing, and for 15 years I have tried in the country, and Canada, to present what I feel is a meaningful expression of care.
Outside of the Government Information office on the third floor of Norlin Library is the permanent display area for Ben Franklin's Believe It Or Not! Within a glass case and a spinner rack are regularly updated selections of materials from our collection in the library. The display case features material arranged around a particular theme, while the spinner rack's contents are generally, simply, interesting.
