Precedent research is seeking out influences that provide inspiration, and data and sources that help with the justification for an idea. 

This guide includes the activity we'll do to get started with your precedent research, which is to break your capstone topic down into individual concepts, so you can reflect on the kinds of research you need to do.  Next, find introductions to research in three main areas:
