Find a Study Space

There are more than 30 study rooms throughout the University Libraries. Some are funded with Student Computing Initiative (SCI) fees and are only available to registered CU-Boulder students.  

 

Popular First Floor Study Spots

Norlin Commons

A variety of seating options, printing, and both Mac and Windows workstations, and the Laughing Goat Café. Group study rooms are also available and can be reserved online; access study rooms by Buff OneCard swipe.

Book a Commons study room Six group study rooms in Norlin Commons are available to CU Boulder students.

Science Collection / S180

The perimeter of the room is lined with study tables for silent study.

Southeast Study Space / E103

This area is near the east entrance and is generally a quiet space.

Popular Second Floor Study Spots

Art and Architecture Collection

Offers a silent study area on the second floor of Norlin's north side.

Asian Studies Collection

A silent study area on the second floor south side.

Periodicals Collection

The perimeter of the room is lined with study tables for silent study.

Research Area

A variety of study areas including moveable chairs, study desks and computer work stations (Mac and Windows).

West Side Study Room

A large quiet study space located just opposite Norlin's second floor west entrance.

Popular Third Floor Study Spots

M350

There is a large study area located in M350, contiguous with the Rare & Distinctive Collections classroom space and the PC Computer Lab. There is also a small study area on the main floor of Gov Info, as well as a few study spaces on the main floor of the Government Information book stacks.

Graduate Study Suite

A study room for graduate students (more about study spaces for graduate students).

Norlin Stacks

Study desks line the far east corridor; this is a silent study area.

Research Floor Overlook

Tables and study carrels line the perimeter of the third floor overlook for quiet study.

Rare & Distinctive Collections

The corridor area along the building's north side, near the Rare & Distinctive Collections reading room, has numerous large tables and chairs for study.
