 Searching with Prospector

Prospector is a unified catalog of academic, public and special libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. Through Prospector you have access to 30 million books, journals, DVDs, CDs, videos and other materials held in these libraries. With a single search you can identify and borrow materials from the collections and have them delivered to your campus library.

Service is available to Faculty/Staff, Graduates, Undergraduates, Law Faculty/Staff, Law Students, Continuing Education students/degree and non-degree seeking, POIs, Visiting Scholars, Campus Departments, Library Departments, and Friends of the Libraries.

Most items check out for 3 weeks with one renewal possible. Media checks out for 1 week with no renewals. Items typically arrive within 10 days.

Tips for Using

  • Prospector is not case-sensitive. (E.g., a search for "Maya Angelou" is the same as a search for "maya angelou".)
  • You can omit most punctuation. (E.g., a search for "Handmaids Tale" is the same as a search for "Handmaid’s Tale".)
  • Numbers may need to be spelled out.
  • Access Prospector from the left hand menu in Onesearch.
