Would you like to reserve the bike cart for an outreach activity? Follow the steps below to reserve and use the cart!
Training:
- Attend a training on safety and information about InfoMotion (Note: In consideration of liability concerns, this is mandatory for anyone who plans to ride the cart)
Request:
- ​Develop the idea/purpose behind using InfoMotion
- Craft brief messaging to promote your use of the cart (this messaging may appear as a News item on the Libraries' homepage and on social media)
- Check the InfoMotion reservation calendar to be sure the time slot you want is available
- Submit the InfoMotion request form at least 2 weeks in advance
- Receive confirmation and prepare to use the bike cart
- Design signage with Andrew
Set-up:
- Retrieve bike lock and InfoMotion keys from Megan
- Pick up InfoMotion laptop kit (containing laptop and charger, wedge reader, and barcode scanner) from the Norlin Circulation Desk
- If you want to circulate library materials, retrieve materials, have the materials desensitized by Circulation Desk staff, and load in InfoMotion's cabinet
- Ensure any additional materials you requested are in the cart or you have picked them up from Megan
- Check the condition of the cart (contact Megan, x2-5136, if there are any issues)
- Put on your helmet, maneuver InfoMotion outside, and ride away!
Return:
- Return InfoMotion (either to the location where you picked it up or to a new, predetermined location)
- Wipe inside of helmet, seat, and handlebars with a Lysol wipe
- Lock all accessories (bell, umbrella, etc.) in cart's cabinet or storage unit
- Apply the bike locks to the wheels (and permanent structure if applicable)
- Remove event related signage from placards
- Return InfoMotion laptop kit to Norlin Circulation Desk
- Return uncirculated library materials to Circulation Desk, asking staff if they prefer that you drop materials in the box or leave them on the desk
- Return bike lock and InfoMotion keys to Megan
Reporting:
- Complete the InfoMotion Event Assessment Form
- Submit pictures to Megan
