This assignment asks students to conduct research on a single literary work in order to find and summarize ten peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters. The purpose of this assignment is to summarize complex secondary source material. This assignment will require specialized rhetorical knowledge in literary criticism as well as an ability to compile evidence from scholarly sources. Finding and choosing appropriate sources will require information literacy using library databases. In the process, you will learn and employ the citation methods of the Modern Language Association.
