Sources of data and statistics are increasingly available from researchers, government organizations, publishers, and other groups.  Below are a sample of data resources.  If you would like help finding data, contact your librarian.

  • DataHub - A data repository affiliated with Purdue University, collections focused in STEM
  • NIST Data GatewayAccess to National Institute of Standards and Technology scientific and technical data
  • MatWeb - A database of materials properties
  • - Search for open data from the U.S. Government
  • Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey - The U.S. Energy Information Administration collects a number of data sets related to energy consumption
  • Open Energy Data - from the U.S. Department of Data

  • re3data- the Registry of Research Data Repositories can help you find a place for your data, and find data sets
  • Open Data Stack Exchange- Question and answer site for developers and researchers interested in open data
  • Figshare- Open repository for data outputs that is fully searchable and citable
  • GitHub- Repository for programmers using Git, an open source version control system
