Find News Articles

You will search for academic articles in databases. It is ok to use Google Scholar. Most databases require you to develop search terms or "keywords" that summarize the main points of your topic. See the next tab on how to search a database.

Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)
Multidisciplinary index to thousands of popular and scholarly journals, including engineering trade journals, from 1975 to current.
EBSCO Society & Politics
Comprehensive source for materials on all social and political topics. Includes the following collections:
Engineering Village
Comprehensive database of scholarly literature in engineering and other applied sciences.
Google Scholar
Tool to search for scholarly documents across the web, with an added feature of CU Full Text links.
Social Science Database (ProQuest)
Indexing and full text for academic journals across social science disciplines including anthropology, communication, criminology, economics, education, political science, psychology, social work, and sociology.
Web of Science, Web of Science database
Interdisciplinary index that provides citations for high impact journals. Useful for forward citation searching. Includes some indexing and full-text linking for ProQuest Dissertations and Theses.

Access World News Research Collection
Online access to major national and international newspapers, as well as local and regional titles. Also includes newswires, blogs, web-only content, videos, journals, magazines, transcripts and more.
Alternative Press Index (EBSCO)
Database of journal, newspaper and magazine articlesfrom hundreds of international alternative, radical and left periodicals. Covers 1991-present. For 1969-1990, see Alternative Press Index Archive.
Ethnic NewsWatch (ProQuest)
Periodicals of ethnic and minority presses. Articles written primarily by Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian & Pacific Islander, and Jewish people.
