Hello! This guide is adapted for CU families and community members to include all-ages activities and materials related to the 2021-2022 CU Boulder Buffs One Read, American Like Me, edited by America Ferrera. The CU Boulder Buffs One Read fosters intellectual community and cultural exchange among students, faculty, and staff. It establishes a unifying theme for the year that serves as a basis for classroom discussion, programming, social and civic development, and connection to campus. We hope you enjoy these activities and the conversations they spark!
America Ferrera is an award-winning actress, producer, director and activist. In 2016 Ferrera cofounded HARNESS, an organization connecting storytellers and activists to amplify the cultural narrative around social justice. She speaks throughout the country as an advocate for human and civil rights and was the opening speaker at the monumental Women’s March on Washington in January 2017.
