Graduate students may request access to the Graduate Suite, a reserved study space for graduate students, or make use of first-come, first-serve spaces in Norlin Library. Once granted, access to the Graduate Suite via Buff OneCard swipe is available both in academic terms and over the summer.

For access to the space, or to apply for an assigned carrel, complete the form linked below.

Graduate Suite Application Form

Graduate Suite

The Graduate Suite, located in Norlin Library N310, includes open tables as well as reservable spaces and is available to graduate students upon request.

Assigned spaces

Within the Graduate Suite (Norlin N310), the following are available for reservation:

  • 34 shared carrels (two people per desk). Each individual is given a dedicated, large locking storage area attached to the desk.
  • 12 medium sized lockers (no assigned carrel)

Assigned carrels and lockers are not guaranteed.

Requesting an assigned space

Graduate students may request a carrel or medium locker in the Norlin Graduate Suite. Upon application, you will be added to the queue. If you are not assigned a carrel, your application remains on our waitlist. If you are assigned a carrel, you may pick up your key on or after August 1, and you will have access to the carrel or locker for the fall and spring semesters, through May 31 of the academic year. You will have the option to request a renewal one time by emailing libraries@colorado.edu; if you request this renewal prior to returning your key, you may continue to use your assigned locker through the summer. After one renewal, you must reapply and your name will be placed on the waiting list queue.

If you do not wish to renew, but would like to continue to use your assigned carrel or locker through the end of the summer session, you may request an extension by emailing libraries@colorado.edu prior to the end of the spring semester.

Once your reservation period has ended, return keys by May 31. If keys are not returned on time, you will accrue fines and your items will be removed from the previously assigned space. If you have questions, wish to request an extension, or wish to renew, please email us at libraries@colorado.edu.
