Glossary Terms

  • Curriculum Vitae, or CV: an extensive resume that commonly used in university and research settings.  In addition to listing the jobs a person has had, it lists all of the publications that person has written, presentations they have given, grants they have recieved, and more.
  • Literature Review: a literature review is an article that reviews all (or a specific chunk of) the original research done on a topic; brings together many original research articles; and describes the trends and conclusions that can be drawn across those articles.
  • Primary Investigator, or PI:  a primary investigator is the lead researcher in a lab group or grant project
